So it’s the weekend and who reads blogs on the weekend? amirite? I was spending some time cleaning out my almost full, 1TB hardrive of screenies and other graphics when I came across these… oldies, but goodies:
She’s done it… finally. Snõ is 80 and she’s sporting her first pair of epic gloves that Lady RNG bestowed upon her so lovingly today in ToC. It’s always funny how RNG goes…
Starryeyed [lvl 80 resto druid]: Hey guys, anyone wanna come for a few quick runs through normal ToC to try to get Barbi some gear?
Lands [lvl 77 feral druid]: =( I don’t think you want too many undergeared people in there…
Destiny [lvl 80 ret pally]: Ah, sure you guys can come, just make sure to pull aggro off of me every so often
Lands: \o/
And that is how our little group formed:
Starryeyed healing
Lands tanking (most of the time)
Alix on the dps
Snõ on the dps
Destiny on… well, obliteration duties… cuz that’s how he rolls.
Now, before we even stepped foot in the door, I was diligent and researched what would be good for Ret so that I wasn’t flailing around at the end of each boss and whispering Destiny… this one is good, right? I knew not to expect anything off the first boss… so the second boss is up and it’s Eadric \o/ I am excited because he has the chance to drop THREE things that would benefit me once I hit 80… and I was especially excited about the chestpiece as I was hoping it would allow me to start doing randoms instead of getting the:
I’m sorry, you fail at gearscore. Try again when you’re not a scrub.
Because I’m still wearing my BoA. Eadric down and… bam… caster gear. Okay, good because Alix needs it for her elemental spec. So, we win anyway AND we still have the Black Knight to kill and he has a few good drops as well. BK dies… BAM! Feral druid gear. \o/ Go Lands! Cuz he will need that when he’s 80. So this is turning out to be a great gear run for my guildies. We run several more times… getting Eadric
EVERY.TIME.
And… getting a fair amount of feral druid gear for Lands. Starryeyed did get a trinket he had been wanting, so that was good news too.
Guess what. I think it was our last try… #4 or #5… and finally…
After so many runs a few of us were bored and some of us had other things to do, so we opted to take a break. I hadn’t quite ‘geared out’ as I think Starry and I were trying for, but my friends got great starter gear for when they hit 80 sometime this week and we had fun. Win-Win. I was so close to 80 so I decided to continue questing… as I was questing in Ice Crown, I decided to do the quests that the bone witch gives out in hopes of some decently clustered quests and knowing that there is a line of quests at the end to kill several elites. One of her quests, The Art of Being a Water Terror, has you running about as a water elemental -thing- and killing the vrykul in the area. If any of you have done the quest, you know that you are unable to loot while ‘possessing’ this elemental… as such, I generally ignore the looting unless some sparkle-bodies are strewn around once I’m done killing. This time I opted to hop out of the elemental (My armor was starting to take on a bit of rust and it was cold) and run to loot up the bodies nearby. As I was looting, a bit of purple text scrolled up my screen and I paused, tilted my head a bit to the side (you know, kinda like a dog looking at a ceiling fan?) and thought … whut? I opened my bag and saw this… thing… and thought oh, lame it’s soulbound… and then I read closer and a wide smile spread slowly across my face as I realized what lady RNG had blessed me with. (She must have felt bad about ToC)

I didn’t have an opportunity to check it out until after raid, as you have to be lvl 80 to use it and I had only hit 80 just before raid. This was just icing on my WoW cake after such a great raid. I found myself a bouncing buddy and we frolicked about until our monkey forms faded and we hugged and went our separate ways.
How can you not love this?
